I Remember Those!

I was looking around Pinterest (addictive website) and found one of those long list of images with old toys I remembered having as a kid. Anybody a 90s kid?

http://9gag.com/gag/6907879

You know, I don't remember the Talkboy. Does anybody know what that was?

My brother had the Street Sharks and the Hot Shot Basketball game. He would play the basketball toy ALL THE TIME.

I was a pro at the Bop It! I remember having a group of friends over and we would get in a circle and pass it around and I would be the only one left still getting everything right. Now...I'm not so sure anymore.

I LOVED my tamagotchi and littly compact polly pocket toys.

Oh my gosh and the Lite Bright!!

If you were a 90's kid I hope you enjoyed this piece and looked back at the good times. Have a great Thursday!

Ending One Chapter, Starting Anew

I have finished The Sharper The Knife, The Less You Cry and thoroughly enjoyed it. Here are a few quotes to share.

"...Who decides what is quality cuisine anyway?...but it makes me wonder more about the general nature of evolution. We can reinvent anything, even ourselves, and some things will change, but in the end, something familiar always remains. Mike might enjoy chocolate foam, but he'd probably never crave it the way he would chocolate chip cookies. Why? The chefs at El Bulli can never compete with the memory of his mother pulling them hot out of the oven when he came home..."

"...This is truly a time for thanks. This is a meal that I could not have made before I attended Le Cordon Bleu. More than half the people here are friends that I made in Paris. My grandmother had a saying: 'Every woman should get herself two things: a good husband and a good set of knives.' Bad husbands aren't worth the trouble, and cheap knives aren't worth the purchase."

Instagram Tuesday

I apologize to the non- cat lovers but I'm a very happy girl when I get to see my baby, Chloe. She's is my first pet that is actually officially mine. We have had dogs but they are the family's pets. I have to leave her with my parents since we are not allowed to have pets at the sorority house (except fish). I get so excited to see her. Every morning and every night she crawls inside the covers and literately snuggles with me until she gets too hot or bored.

Hopefully the weather will warm up today. Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Most Unknown

Hello everyone,

I just got back home late last night from my trip to Texas and I had a lovely time. I was able to visit with family and friends at the bridal shower on Saturday. Thank you to those who came and brought me goodies. I got a new crockpot and blue Paula Dean kitchenware set. I was so happy!

Slowly I'm working my way up in the housewifery world.

Today I have been researching top unknown countries because I'm trying to figure out where my fiancé is taking us for the honeymoon in July. He's been very secretive and told me he's not even going to show me the plane tickets (which I don't know how long he's going to keep that a secret when we get to the airport but anywho...) It's been bugging me and I'm dying to know! I came across this list from thisblogrules.com and thought I would share it with you.

Have a great Monday!

...aaaannnndd GO!

Spring Break officially starts at 4:00 pm today! Thank the Lord that it's finally here. I've been mentally and physically exhausted from this semester. This weekend will be my bridal shower with family in Texas. I'm very excited to see my aunts and uncles I don't see very often. All I plan on doing this next week is sleep in, tan, and drink fuzzy navels.

Are you starting Spring Break too? Have you already had a Spring Break? I would love to hear your plans. Please comment!

Have a wonderful Thursday!

What Would Julia Child Do?

Here's a quote from the book (that I'm still reading) The Sharper Your Knife, The Less You Cry. I need to explain that Kathleen is working on a duck recipe and was turning the duck over in the oven when her wrist hits the hot pan and jerks away, causing the duck to fly across the classroom and falls on the floor.

"...Now, there is one thing that's true about Julia Child. She said that you should never confess to mistakes that were not witnessed by others. 'Remember, you're alone in the kitchen,' she would say. 'You must stand by your convictions and just pretend that was the way it was supposed to turn out'...Mercifully, Chef Bouveret is out of the room. Anna-Clare eyes the duck with a look of horror-for a good reason...without a word, I scoop up the duck with my side towel and toss it into the pan, shove it in the oven, and slam the door."

I laughed so hard because I thought I would do the same thing. Pretend that nothing happened and go on. Have a great Wednesday!!

Instagram Tuesday

I love finding old, fun instagrams I've forgotten about like this one. This was a bunch of us girls going to a 'work out' party for a friend's 21st birthday-the one wearing the pink bra in the front.

Have a lovely day.

Everything Goes Away

Here's another quote from Eat, Pray, Love:

"...there was something mildly thrilling for me about realizing that in my thirty-four years on earth I have NEVER not slapped at a mosquito when it was biting me...Whenever something happens, I always react. But here I was-disregarding the reflex...When it was all over, I stood up, walked to my room and assessed the damage. I counted about twenty mosquito bites. But within a half an hour, all the bites had diminished. It all goes away. Eventually, everything goes away."

Sun Is Shining

The weather is warming up and the sun is coming out from hiding behind the clouds. There's even less wind blowing through the desert too. One more week and it's Spring Break for this girl. Not trying to be gross, but I haven't been shaving my legs much because of the foul weather but NOW I have no excuse anymore. Our house cook is asking us girls to join her to go tanning outside and I can't be rude. Of course I want to lay out in the sun! I hope the weather is warming up wherever you are. If so, don't forget to shave your legs too and don't forget to put sunblock on!

He's Coming!

Just got done talking to J and he told me he's barely going to make it for my graduation. YaaaayyYY! I'm very excited to hear that. So this means 53 days til I see him again.

I am so thankful that he's going to be around for awhile to help with the wedding plans. My mom is going to need all the help she can get with last minute things to do and me still finishing up with school. I just hope his family will be able to come here at least a week before the wedding and visit with him too. Fingers crossed!

Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday!

Code Milky Green

Hello all!

I haven't posted on the past few days because where I'm at the wind has picked up, the weather has chilled, and I got the Code Milky Green. For those of you who do not understand what I mean it is a reference from The Big Bang Theory. Here's a good visual brought to you by YouTube. =)

http://youtu.be/ZFhrwI1RIkM

I promise I'm not as bad as Sheldon when it comes to being sick. So for the past several days I've been sitting at the sorority house and watched Netflix and Redbox, provided by wonderful sisters who were willing to go out in the wind to get them for me. I was able to catch up on Walking Dead, or what was available on Netflix, Skins, and finally finished the Twilight series (THANK GOD IT'S OVER) One of my great favorites is Sabrina, one of Audrey Hepburn's early (and I mean black and white) movies. I recommend it if you are a Hepburn fan.

"Much too low."

Thankfully, I feel much better now and I'm going with my parents to pick up my brother from the airport. Eeeep! I'm so stinkin excited. I hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Proud Sissy

I'm so proud of my baby brother and I want to say congratulations for graduating in the army! At the same time I'm scared for him after finding out where he is going to next. He's only 18 and I worry about him. Nonetheless I'm very excited for him and I hope he's happy with how things worked out.

Love you bubby!!!

Instagram Tuesdays

This time of the year, fraternities are asking around the sororities to go to homecoming with them. For homecoming in the fall semester a fraternity and sorority will pair up and act as a team for homecoming week events. The major event is the parade. The teams work together to create a float. It's kind of like high school but BIGGER. I'm not trying to brag but for the past four years we (Chi Omega and whatever fraternity we pair up) have won three. It's so much fun and exciting to watch the fraternities chalk their love for sororities and serenade us. These boys go all out for us.

10 weeks

I have realized that I have 10 weeks of school left...like ever...

When I looked at my calendar I jumped and hooted. I cannot tell you how excited this makes me feel to know how much closer you are being done with school forever. No more early morning exams. No more dealing with 'that kind of person' that always seems to be in every class. No more group projects and you end up doing everything. No more BSing a research paper to get it to the right amount of pages.

That also means 11  1/2 weeks until I am officially Mrs. Kiersten Campbell!

Sorry, I had to let it out. Have a lovely day!!!
